Former Howard Stern Show regular Artie Lange has written a book about his life and his recovery from addiction in 'Crash and Burn.'
"I was as out of control as a person can get. They say opiates take your soul; that’s what it did to me. You lose friends, a job. I needed a whole year and a half to get better. Thank God I’m better," said Lange.
The Hoboken, NJ resident had a memorable break-down on the Howard Stern Show that eventually lead to him leaving the popular radio show for good.
“Howard could not have been better. He tried everything. He never fired me. If he had fired me I might have been to the point where I couldn’t come back," said Lange.
While his days may be over on the Stern show, Lange is now hosting his own program.
The Artie Lange Show airs Monday- Friday, 10 pm - 1 am on Direct TV.
'Crash and Burn' is now on sale.
