Police Release Video Of Alleged Temple Robbery Suspect

Posted: Updated:
NORTH PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia Police have released new surveillance video of the alleged suspect involved in the robbery and attack of a Temple University professor.

The campus university spokesperson says it's still unclear how this strong-arm robbery of a Temple professor even happened.

It was just before noon when the university says a suspect physically assaulted and robbed a faculty member inside of an office at Anderson hall.

The victim suffered some injuries to his mouth but is going to be okay. Police say a weapon was not used. It's unclear what the suspect got away with and who he was. The university says there is always a security guard stationed in the lobby of the building and everyone must flash their Temple ID to get inside.

The university says it immediately sent out a text and email alert to students, faculty and staff letting everyone know about the robbery. In the meantime, the school says it has increased its security.

"We've beefed up security in and around the buildings in the area of Anderson and Gladfelter until we can identify how the individual got in," Ray Betzner, a Temple University spokesperson said.

The school has not released any information about this male professor.

Officials tell us they're reviewing surveillance video and trying to learn more about the suspect.

Anyone with information is urged to call Temple University Police at 215-204-1234.
