Mar Yvette's Weekend Roundup

Weekend Roundup: 7 Wheel Wonders, Sleepy Hollow, Malo Restaurant, Spirit Halloween & Guns N' Hoses

Posted: Updated:

FOX 11's food and fun expert Mar Yvette searches the Los Angeles area for some of the best places to eat, drink, shop and have a great time. Featured guests then swarm our FOX Television Center parking lot every Thursday morning between 9am and 10am on Good Day LA, creating a big party as one jam-packed segment known as the Weekend Roundup!

Here's more information about the guests we featured:

Sleepy Hollow

What better way to kick off Halloween than with the Headless Horseman from "Sleepy Hollow"? The series, which airs Monday nights at 9pm EST on FOX, is a modern-day twist on Washington Irving's classic. If you're heading to the West Hollywood Carnaval tonight you can meet this giant character for your own face-to-face experience... oh wait, maybe not. Well, you can at least shake his hand.

Malo Restaurant

In honor of the Mexican holiday Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), Chef Robert Luna from Malo Restaurant in Silver Lake and Mas Malo in Downtown LA is once again putting a deliciously creative twist on traditional Mexican favorites with delicacies including pumpkin flower soft tacos, champurrado, pan de muerto and pumpkin enchiladas with kale and white chocolate mole (!!!). And don't forget the tasty cocktails. No tricks here, just treats.

Spirit Halloween

Whether you want to dress up as your favorite food (did someone say taco??), a spooky monster or your favorite superhero, Spirit Halloween has just what you need to transform yourself into practically anything you can imagine. Choose from hundreds of costumes at more than 1,000 locations across the country. Happy Halloween!

Guns N' Hoses

Welcome to the jungle: Guns N' Hoses is New York City's all-female tribute to Guns N' Roses and now you can catch this East Coast sensation on Sunday, November 3 at the Viper Room. "The Hoses are not a tribute band that sound just like the original. They are not a collection of eye-candy, thrown together that can just kinda-sorta play instruments," says Jay Kennedy of New England Music News. "They are a talented band that really appreciates the original GNR sound, and has fun with it."
