Los Angeles, CA -

(FOX 11 / CNS) Two people were wounded in a drive-by shooting in the West Adams district early today, police said.

The victims were seated in a vehicle in the 3700 block of West 36th Street at about 1:42 a.m. and were shot from another vehicle, according to Los Angeles police Sgt. Carlton Brown.

"An unknown vehicle approached, and opened rounds,'' Brown said. The identities and condition of the victims were not available, Adams said.

Firefighters could be seen administering CPR on a man inside an ambulance and a second victim, a woman, was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to her left cheek, a witness told City News Service.

A silver Mercedes-Benz sedan was at the scene with a shattered driver-side window and bullet casings next to it, the witness said.
