Weekend Roundup: Bruxie Veterans Fundraiser & Beverly Hills Wine & Food Festival

Posted: Updated:

FOX 11's food and fun expert Mar Yvette searches the Los Angeles area for some of the best places to eat, drink, shop and have a great time. Featured guests then swarm our FOX Television Center parking lot every Thursday morning between 9am and 10am on Good Day LA, creating a big party as one jam-packed segment known as the Weekend Roundup!

Here's more information about the guests we featured:

Bruxie Veterans Fundraiser

Could waffles be good for your heart? Absolutely yes! On Friday, November 8, you're invited to enjoy all sorts of waffle sandwiches at Bruxie in Old Towne Orange (as well as the other 6 locations in SoCal) for their annual fundraiser benefiting The Independence Fund, a nonprofit that provides wheelchairs for veterans severely injured in the line of duty. You'll feel so good knowing that with every waffle you buy proceeds are going to help a vet. Some of our local heroes from today are Sgt. Erick Castro, who lost his entire left side during the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and Sgt. Major Jesse Acosta, who lost his eyes when a bomb in Iraq hit him. It's great food for a great cause.

Beverly Hills Wine & Food Festival

Food, wine and fancy cars?? Yes, please! The annual Beverly Hills Wine & Food Festival is back for three days of indulgence (Friday, November 15 - Sunday, November 17). Sip from 30 wineries, more than a dozen spirits, plus enjoy samples from 50 of the best chefs and restaurants including the fabulous Beverly Wilshire Hotel featured on today's show. Oh, and don't forget the most incredible cars from McLaren Beverly Hills, the premier spot for luxury vehicles. It's sure to be one weekend you won't soon forget.

Sutter Zachman had his first record deal when he was barely out of his teens. You may have seen the Orange County native was on stage at the Largo and other hot clubs around LA. He then left town...after what he called a few "bouts" with the music business, but now he is back with a new EP called ‘Repeat Offender.'
