Big-Rig Fire Shuts Down 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights

Posted: Updated:

The eastbound 60 lanes are closed for three more hours and the traffic that is being diverted to the westbound 605 at Azusa will last for at least one more hour.

The southbound and northbound transition roads from the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway to the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway are closed due to that big rig fire on the eastbound 60 in Hacienda Heights, according to the California Highway Patrol. Traffic on the eastbound 60 is being diverted onto the northbound and southbound 605.

(Fox 11/CNS)-- Inspector Scott Miller of the Los Angeles County Fire Department
says that big rig burning on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Hacienda
Heights was hauling liquid hydrogen.

Here is what we know from CHP:

At 2:48pm that is when the CHP took the call of a tractor trailer on fire on 60 EB at Hacienda Blvd.

As of 3:40pm there is a SIG-ALERT on the 60 freeway BOTH WB and EB
CHP diverting traffic off on the EB side at Azusa and on the West Bound side they are taking off traffic at 7th.
