Suspect Killed In Long Beach Rooftop Shooting

(FOX 11 / CNS) An officer-involved shooting on the roof of an apartment building in Long Beach today left a suspect dead, authorities said.

The shooting occurred about 4 a.m. in the 400 block of Nebraska Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

The shooting took place after a traffic stop in the area of Walnut Avenue and 3rd Street around 2:30 a.m. followed by a foot pursuit, police said. The man was wanted on suspicion of a carjacking in Los Angeles, police said.

Police said the suspect was named in an arrest warrant that described him as an armed and dangerous felon.
