Engagement photo shoot in a supermarket

NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

Once upon a time between the potatoes and oranges at Fairway supermarket, Hiromi and Josh captured the love of their budding romance.

The grocery store in Woodland Park, N.J., may not be the typical spot for an engagement photo shoot, but the Yuns took a chance.

They told photographer Tim Yun about their vision and he started snapping.

From the cheese aisle, to the beverages, and don't forget your greens -- the pictures kept on coming.

"When we got here he looked around and saw the colors and everything popped so well so he loved it," Josh Yun said.

So you might be thinking, what's up with the supermarket photo shoot? For the Yuns this is a sentimental place. They come here every weekend, love to cook, and are huge foodies. So it was really the perfect fit

"He loves bacon so he pretended to grab a whole bunch of bacon and I was chasing him down to be like NO!" Hiromi Wada said. "I'm the opposite I love sweets. I love the bakery, muffins, I had a whole bunch and he was like what are you doing?"

"It's really creative, I give this couple so many points," said Keija Minor, the editor in chief of Brides magazine. This is a growing trend; more couples are doing away with the traditional photo shoots and picking a place that's special to their relationship.

"My advice for couples is you want to be creative but don't be unique just for unique's sake you want to be true to who you are as a couple so it has to feel natural you will get the best photos if you are comfortable in the space," Minor said. "That couple is definitely comfortable in Fairway."

The Yuns took it one step further. They put the pictures in a guest book for their friends and family to sign at their barn wedding two weeks ago.

"We are going to look back and be like, remember when we do this it was so much fun," Hiromi said. I think it's just a great memory we will have for the rest of our lives."

The Boys and Girls Club of Newark seems like the last place you'd expect to find the daughter of hip hop royalty. But when it comes to inspiring young girls, Angela Simmons, daughter of Rev. Run of Run DMC, believes in the old adage "each one, teach one." While it may seem like she had a silver spoon in her mouth, she knows the importance of giving back.

Several beaches on the New Jersey and New York coastlines are open to visitors but closed to swimming because of high surf and dangerous rip currents. The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory and Rip Current Statement for the area beaches because of the effects of Hurricane Cristobal, which is expected to track south and east of the Jersey shore through Thursday.
