I’m a TV News Photographer

Posted: Updated:

The responsibility of a television News photographer is tremendous. As a TV cameraperson you are responsible for bringing to life, events of the day for many who are unable to be in several places at once. They look for those images, created by News Camera people, to be able to see what has happened in other parts of their communities.

Today was intensely exciting for one of our photographers assigned to capture images of Mexican Mafia arrest in Oxnard. As a photographer you must be intensely aware of your surroundings and look for pictures that will tell the story and capture the intensity of the moment. Not easily done. Its not like our taking pictures at a family gathering, which can be daunting for some of us. Photographer, Tony Buttitta does a good job of that today in our coverage of Operation "SuperNova," a multi-agency task force investigation that targeted Mexican Mafia-affiliated street gangs in Ventura County.

Look for those pictures today as Reporter Gigi Graciett covers that story on our Fox11 News programs throughout the day and evening.
