The Morning Show Wrap Up: Wednesday, November 20th, 2013

Posted: Updated:

Just for introductions, my name is Hayley Herst and I am the crazy #%$@! Executive Producer for the FOX 11 Morning News and Good Day L.A. Every weekday I will try and give you my perspective of what goes in and around our newscast.

BTW I have a severe potty mouth and will try to reign myself in! (Not)

Today we had Gina Silva on a story in the early morning about the L.A. Unified School District's controversial iPad program. Apparently the School district has come out saying that their right to use English and math curriculum installed on district iPads expires after three years. Yikes! That means more money more money! I wonder who will take the fall for this latest debacle!

Hal Eisner did a three part story on where the jobs are in Southern California and how to get one of those jobs. He had an interview with this one guy in a tech job that claims he never went to college and is now making bank in the tech industry. It's all about the skills,  if you have the right ones, there are jobs out there for you.

My girl Gigi Graciette had a FOX 11 Morning show exclusive! She went with police on a Mexican Mafia Bust! pic.twitter.com/3zwcIVdLRu. Lots of bad men got busted this morning! Check out her story on myfoxla.com.

Bobby D got the story of the day…he went to the L.A. Auto Show. I mean , are you kidding me with these cars! I'm dying for the Corvette Stingray!

I end with this: The moment of the morning was Dish Nation with Heidi and Frank from KLOS. Check out the interaction from today's live shot.

Araksya and Tony talked to them about the new Kim Kardashian and Kanye West video…which I have to say is total cheese balls!

Anyway…the Dish Nation crew then sent us pics of Araksya and Tony's faces superimposed on Kim and Kanye! We then surprised them with those pics on Good Day LA… needless to say they were shocked!

You gotta love this place!

Until tomorrow peeps!

An NYPD plan intended to better connect with the community seems to have backfired. The police department asked its Twitter followers to share pictures of themselves with New York City police officers using the hashtag "myNYPD." Some did share nice pictures, but others decided to not "play nice, " sharing beating photos and more.

Officials say a 16-year-old boy is "lucky to be alive" and unharmed after flying from California to Hawaii stowed away in a plane's wheel well, surviving cold temperatures at 38,000 feet and a lack of oxygen. "Doesn't even remember the flight," FBI spokesman Tom Simon in Honolulu told The Associated Press on Sunday night. "It's amazing he survived that."
