ATLANTA -

Thirty excited moms and dads will celebrate new additions to their families this weekend.

Fulton County Juvenile Court Chief Judge Bradley Boyd stopped by "Good Day Atlanta" to talk about the 12th annual National Adoption Day celebration. (CLICK THE VIDEO ABOVE TO WATCH THE INTERVIEW).

The event is happening at the Powell Justice Center in downtown Atlanta on Saturday morning. This is Boyd's fifth year participating in the event and he says it never gets old.

FOX 5's Karen Graham is the mistress of ceremonies for Saturday's National Adoption Day. She found out there's another group of people eager to roll up its sleeves to make a difference in a child's life.

    A grand jury ruled Tuesday that a Euharlee police officer was not authorized in a recent shooting that took the life of a 17-year-old boy. The officer claimed the teen had a gun, but the boy’s family said it was a video game controller. Christopher Roupe was shot and killed on February 14. The Bartow County Grand Jury found that Euharlee Police Officer Beth Gatney was not authorized to use deadly force.
