ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Officials say a plane traveling from Fort Myers to Boston was diverted to Orlando International Airport after an evacuation slide deployed mid-flight.
OIA spokesman Rod Johnson says JetBlue flight 1266 landed in Orlando at 3:41 p.m. Wednesday. The plane was reportedly carrying 74 passengers and four crewmembers. No injuries were reported.
Johnson says the plane landed safely, and airport operations were not impacted.
JetBlue spokesman Anders Lindstrom explained that the slide partially deployed toward the aircraft's galley. At no point did a door open, and nothing was hanging off the side of the plane.
Lindstrom said the plane has been taken out of service for inspection. He says it's too early to tell what went wrong.
A replacement aircraft was set to leave for Boston at 6:30 p.m.
