Two In Hospital After Fire In North Philly Home

Posted: Updated:

FOX 29 is following breaking news out of North Philadelphia. Two children are rushed to the hospital after jumping from a burning home this morning.

The fire broke out along the 2500 block of West Sergeant Street. There is no word yet on where the fire started. This happened just before four a.m. This morning.

Officials tell FOX 29 that a 10-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl jumped from the building. They lived on the second floor of the building, above the grocery store that was on the first floor.

They both hurt their ankles, but are expected to be okay.

"Once we got in there and knocked the fire, it was generally pretty quick," said Fire Chief Stephen Paslawski. "Everybody's going home safe."
