The Morning Show Producer Wrap Up: Tuesday

Updated:

Happy Earth Day everyone! How are you remembering our planet? I plan on not cleaning my house today...so I won't use environmentally bad chemicals! LOL!

To celebrate Earth Day we had beauty expert and author of "Green Tea Goodness" Tracy O'Connor here to share some of her eco-favorite finds. My favorite part was when the girls started putting on environmentally designed makeup on Steve! He looks good in lip gloss!

Mariel Hemingway was here. We love having her on the show. She comes on to talk about all kinds of things. Today it's about her new documentary about her family "Running from Crazy." Ernest Hemingway was her grandfather...he took his own life months before Mariel was born. "Running from Crazy" chronicles the story of Mariel and her sisters...and their struggles with the family history of substance abuse, mental illness and suicide. The movie is inspirational and you really should watch it this Sunday on OWN.

Another frequent guest was with us today as well. Kevin Smith does a weekly "Smodcast" with his producing partner Scott Mosier...and they're about to do their 300th one this Thursday night. I love Kevin. He is smart, funny, irreverent and just a joy to be around! I swear...the next time Steve is off I want Kevin to fill in for him! Now that would be a crazy show!

At 9am we took live the funeral services for Officer Chris Cortijo...a 26 year veteran motorcycle patrol cop. It's the second time in a month that we pay tributed to a fallen Los Angeles police officer.

To end today's blog on a high note... here's a picture of Bobby D pretending to be serious on the set!

Have a great day!

Officials say a 16-year-old boy is "lucky to be alive" and unharmed after flying from California to Hawaii stowed away in a plane's wheel well, surviving cold temperatures at 38,000 feet and a lack of oxygen. "Doesn't even remember the flight," FBI spokesman Tom Simon in Honolulu told The Associated Press on Sunday night. "It's amazing he survived that."
