PHILADELPHIA -

UPDATE: A woman with Alzheimer's disease who went missing while staying with family in South Philadelphia is safe Friday morning.

Sylvia Burns, 67, was found wandering around in West Philadelphia, near 53rd and Baltimore streets.

She left her daughter's home Thursday morning around 10 a.m.

Police took her to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and say she's in good health.

A community comes together to search for a missing woman with Alzheimer's disease on this cold holiday night.

Relatives and neighbors are desperately searching a South Philadelphia neighborhood for 67-year old Sylvia Burns. Her daughter last saw her Thursday morning.

"It would be the best Thanksgiving ever if she comes home safe," said her daughter, Kristin Burns.

A desperate search is underway for 67-year-old Sylvia Burns -- police helicopters have been combing south Philadelphia from above as neighbors and friends search on the ground.

Fliers with information about the missing woman with Alzheimer's have been posted around town.

Burns was last seen Thursday morning near her daughter Kristin's home on the 2800 block of South Warnock Street.

"At about 10 o'clock, I said, 'Mom, I'm gonna go jump in the shower real quick. Then we're gonna go pick up the cannolis for Thanksgiving.' … She had a big smile on her face. I put a movie on for her and said I'd be right down."

But within just a couple of minutes, Kristin said she heard the dogs barking. She sprinted downstairs to find the front door open and her mom missing.

"Now that it's dark, I think she's wondering where I am and thinking I left her because I was in the shower. I'm having a lot of guilt right now," Kristin Burns said.

She says her mom, who now has blonde hair, was wearing a red sweater with a snowman on it. She was carrying three winter jackets. She had no money, no purse and no cell phone.

"Some bad things are running through my mind. I'm concerned somebody picked her up, or she got on a bus," she says.

Burns tells us police dogs tracked her mother's scent down Warnock Street heading right onto Bigler Street.

The missing mom of two is a retired nurse who had been living in Delaware. She has been staying with her daughter since Monday because her condition is worsening. She has trouble with her speech and no longer knows her daughter's name.

Burns and her mother's dog, Mitzy, are both anxious for her safe return before this Thanksgiving night is through.

FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce was live Thursday night in South Philadelphia with more on the search.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
