LA CRESCENTA, Calif. (Fox 11/AP) - Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies say a gunman has barricaded himself inside a store in a La Crescenta shopping center and neighboring businesses are being evacuated.
The La Crescenta sheriff's station says the standoff began at about 4 p.m. Friday at a wireless store, and more than three hours later crisis negotiators were trying to get the suspect to surrender peacefully.
Black Friday shoppers were evacuated from a Ralphs supermarket , a Rite Aid drugstore and other stores in the center.
Authorities say the gunman appears to be alone in the store but other details aren't being released.
The area is about a dozen miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.
