PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. -

A wild pursuit south of the valley that reached speeds of over 100-miles per hour ended with a farm worker helping deputies catch one of the suspects.

This all started when Pinal County Sheriff's deputies got a tip about at least two people loading bundles of marijuana into a car.

Deputies located the car matching the description and say when they tried to stop the vehicle, the driver took off, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour.

PCSO's Tim Gaffney says the driver swerved and almost hit a deputy trying to lay down stop sticks.  The two men in the car finally bailed out and took off running in opposite directions.

Authorities say one of the men, identified as 25-year-old Ruben Soto-Gonzalez, ran through a nearby dairy farm.  A worker there saw deputies chasing him, so he tripped the suspect, who fell face first into cow manure.

"A cow who was startled by the commotion stepped on the suspect while he was on the ground. The suspect got up and punched the dairy worker several times in the face as the worker tried to restrain him for deputies," stated Gaffney.

The second suspect who ran the other way, was found hiding underneath a bush.  He's been identified as 40-year-old Daniel Aguilar-Alvarez, a Mexican national.

Take a look at the picture of the bundles of marijuana found in the suspects' vehicle. Deputies say they weighed a total of 160-pounds and had a street value of $120,000.

Soto-Gonzalez was booked into the Pinal County Jail for two counts of aggravated assault, felony flight, possession of marijuana for sale and possession of marijuana. Aguilar-Alvarez was booked into the Pinal County Jail for possession of marijuana for sale and possession of marijuana.
