Police: Mother made up home invasion story

Posted: Updated:
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

Authorities say a mother concocted a frightening story in which she claimed masked men held her and her autistic daughter at gunpoint.

According to police, 23-year-old Jordan Davis told investigators that four masked men broke into her home on Seabass Road in south DeKalb County.

Davis told police that the men threw a cinder block threw her home's window and then pointed a gun at her head while a knife was held to her 6-year-old daughter's throat. She said the men ransacked the house and stole items including Christmas presents.

DeKalb County Police Chief Cedric Alexander said that none of that story is true, the child was never harmed and the woman is going to face charges, including a charge of making a false report to police.

Authorities believe Davis made the story up to solicit sympathy from the public.
