Emanuel remains hopeful for ADM move to Chicago

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Mayor Emanuel told FOX 32 News he's still hopeful that one of Illinois's largest corporations will move its headquarters to Chicago, rather than other cities it's considering.

That comes despite the general assembly's failure so far to approve a multi-million dollar tax incentive package that agri-business giant ADM said it wanted before committing to the move.

"ADM will see, like GE saw, and the other 22 companies (recently recruited to move to Chicago) which is, we have the best-trained, educated work force, incentive number one," Emanuel said. "Incentive number two: a 21st-Century infrastructure, mainly our transportation system, with a 21st Century economy. And we have a world-class city which they all want to participate in, which is why more companies in the last two years have called Chicago home, and more people. We're the only city in the Midwest that has a growing population."

You can watch the full interview with the mayor, Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy and Family Support Services Commissioner Evelyn Diaz on a Special Edition of FOX 32 Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
