Town Helps Terminally Ill Boy Celebrate Early Christmas

Posted: Updated:

The sound of fire truck sirens blaring on a nasty wintry night is typically bad news but not on this night in Levittown Bucks County. It was a surprise on Orchard Lane that brought out Santa and the entire community and it's one they won't forget.

They are here for Frankie, a very sick four year old, celebrating Christmas early. He suffers from a rare, terminal brain cancer.

No time to wait, strike up the string band while you can, says members of Levittown Fire Company #2 and Edgely Fire Company.

"I really do think this is what Christmas is all about -- what you need to do," Jacqueline Gumbert of Levittown Fire Company #2 said.

Frankie's not sure what's going on here, his mother Tiffany Fusco is getting the idea as she's overcome with tears.

"I can't believe this," Tiffany said.

A hi-five from superman then to their wonder and surprise old Saint Nick comes rolling by.

He's brought gifts and good cheer to a little boy who is loved so dear.

"My husband and I lost a child we know how painful this is," Neighbor Dawn Soley said.

Frankie must get in out of this weather as his mother hugs and waves goodbye to Santa and all then she talks through her cry.

"This is amazing - all I wanted to do is make Frankie's Christmas special," Fusco said.
