STRATFORD, N.J. -

Like any 9-year-old, Fiona Gallagher enjoys playing games with friends. But on this day, What she's decided to do is far from child's play.

Fiona's celebrated her birthday bash at All Star Karate in Stratford, but she doesn't want any presents for herself.

"I'm hoping to get a lot of donations," smiled Fiona.

Her birthday wish is to help homeless children at Camden's Covenant House.

So the Stratford, New Jersey third grader decided to have a Pay It Forward party asking all her friends to bring travel size, personal hygiene items to help the homeless.

The little girl's big act of kindness was inspired by a trip her Girl Scout Troop took to Covenant House and something she learned at school.

"My teacher said during the holidays people don't think about everyone else. They think about themselves and what they're going to get," Fiona said.

"Since her birthday falls between Hanukkah and Christmas she's like 'mom I don't need anything else. I wanna give back,'" explained Fiona's mother Beth Berry.

Berry says after hearing her daughter's desire to donate to others, they watched the movie Pay It Forward together.

Now Fiona's Pay It Forward party is already paying off inspiring her friends like Lauren Py to give.

"That's what I want to do for my next birthday party," said the 9-year-old. I want to collect shoes for the homeless," Py said
