(FOX 11 / CNS) Police spent almost an hour quelling a brawl that erupted at the Radisson hotel near Los Angeles International Airport early this morning, a sergeant said.
The brawl may have been touched off by a fight between people not related to the gathering in the second-floor ballroom at the Radisson Hotel, 6225 West Century Blvd., said Sgt. Robin Richards of the LAPD West Los Angeles Station.
Officers arrived at the hotel around 12:45 a.m. and started to leave the hotel around 1:30 a.m., Richards said. Some 1,000 to 1,500 people were involved in the brawl, he said "They
were throwing chairs and tables.''
Officers evacuated patrons from the function at which the brawl ensued. It was a fraternity party, Richards said. The website AllEvents.in had a listing for the 16th Annual Kappa Khristmas Jam & Toy Drive, starting at the LAX Radisson at 9 p.m. Sunday, put on by the Epsilon Kappa Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
There were no arrests or reports of injuries, Richards said.
