ATLANTA (AP) - Police for metro Atlanta's transit system have arrested seven people for allegedly making and selling fare cards.

MARTA Police say the suspects hacked the Breeze Card security system to produce the cards that they then sold to riders. MARTA said no personal information of legitimate Breeze Card holders was compromised in the alleged scheme.

The transit agency said the conspirators are being charged with theft, fraud and other violations under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, commonly called RICO.

As of Friday afternoon, all suspects were being held in DeKalb County Jail.
