Police Search for Jewelry Theft Suspects

Posted: Updated:

West Whiteland Township Police are looking for at least three suspects accused of lifting thousands of dollars in diamond rings from the Zales jewelry store in the Exton Square Mall.

The heist happened Friday afternoon.  Police say the men walked into the store and then split up in effort to distract staffers before swiping two diamond rings worth a combined $15,000.

"One of the witnesses said they seemed like church people," said West Whiteland Detective Scott Pezick. "They were well-dressed that day. They looked nice.  They were talking about jewelry."

He said two of the suspects somehow reached into a glass display case and took the rings when a worker wasn't looking.

Police released sketches of two of the suspects with descriptions of all three.

Suspect #1 was described as a black male with a dark complexion, between 35 and 45 years old.  He is approximately 6'2" with a thin build.  He also had "salt and pepper" hair and a beard.

Suspect #2 was described as a black male between 50 and 60 years old.  He is approximately 5'11" with white hair and a beard.

The third suspect was described by a witness as a black male, approximately 60-years-old.  He is approximately 5'6" with an average build.  He had "salt and pepper" colored hair and was missing a few front teeth.  He carried a cigar and had a distinctive necklace with a handgun shaped charm that contained diamonds.

If you have any information regarding these suspects you are asked to contact West Whiteland Township Police at (610) 692-5100.  Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call the tip line at (610) 594-9057.
