This was the year of the shared story. MyFOXDetroit.com users used social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and Pinterest to help a number of our stories go viral.

This year's most-shared story? That honor goes to the Bloomfield Hills homeowner who decided to erect a giant middle finger statue next door to his ex-wife. The story was published in November and quickly spread across the Internet. Sites like BuzzFeed and Daily Mail UK picked up on the video as well.
