Bank Robber Assaults Elderly Woman

Philadelphia Police and the FBI are investigating a Friday afternoon bank robbery in Society Hill.

The robbery happened just after 12 P.M. at the Wells Fargo bank on the 300 block of South 2nd Street. The suspect handed the bank teller a note as well as making a verbal threat and then assaulted and robbed an elderly female customer.

The suspect fled the scene after obtaining an undisclosed amount of money. The elderly victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid to late 30s, about 5'7" to 5'8" and a thin build. He was wearing a dark-colored zip front jacket, blue jeans, a burgundy baseball cap with unknown logo, and light colored gloves. He has a brown beard and mustache.
