(WJBK) -- Leading up to this extremely cold stretch of weather, you've probably heard us meteorologists say something like, "these temperatures are going to be record breaking." Or maybe "this cold will be historic." Or "we haven't dealt with this in years," depending on how dramatic we want to be.

But what records are we actually breaking?  Let's have a little fun here.

DAILY LOW TEMPERATURE:

(Bonus: The record on January 8th is -10 set in 1981.  Our forecast of -6 means we'll be close but no cigar.)

LOWEST AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURE:

(Bonus: I guess that would technically make this the coldest January 7th we've ever had!)

BACK TO BACK DAYS WITH SINGLE DIGITS AFTERNOON HIGHS

(Bonus: So it's safe to say this stretch is the coldest stretch we've had in 20 years. Go ahead and impress your friends and neighbors with that one.)

LAST TIME WE DIDN'T BREAK 0 DEGREES:

(Bonus: Ok, by now I think you're getting the picture… it's gonna be really cold)

COLDEST TEMPERATURE EVER:

(Bonus: I actually had to look this up because I thought it was within range.  I mean… come on now.)
