Philadelphia Police Looking To ID Knife-Wielding Robber

PHILADELPHIA -

The Philadelphia Police Department's Northeast Detectives Division is looking to identify the suspect who robbed a 7-11 in Lawndale.

On January 1, 2014, at 2:38 p.m., according to police, they responded to a robbery at a 7-11 located on the 5800 block of Rising Sun Avenue. When police arrived, an employee who was working reported that an unknown male, who was armed with a knife, entered the store and walked behind the counter placing the knife to the employee's back and forced her to open the cash registers. This was all corroborated by surveillance video.

After taking an unknown amount of cash, the suspect fled the store on foot and was last seen west on the 400 block of Cheltenham Avenue, according to investigators.

The Suspect's Description is: White male, 20 years-of-age, thin build. On surveillance, he was wearing gray sweat pants, white hooded sweatshirt, and he had a mask covering his face. He was also armed with a large knife.
