Spiritual medium describes first visions

Posted: Updated:
MYFOXNY.COM - Executive producer James Van Praagh has drawn from his personal experiences as a spiritual medium for the basis of the TV series, The Ghost Whisperer.

Praagh will be hosting a special reading in New York City on Saturday.

"I talk to dead people. They can see me talk to dead people tomorrow night. We have tickets available. It's a very intimate setting," said Praagh.

The spiritual medium says the hit movie 'The Sixth Sense' was based loosely on his life.

"One of the first experiences I had when I was in first grade I walked up to my teacher and said your son was hit by a car. She said go back to your seat. A few minutes later the principal came in and took her out. She came back and she asked me how I knew that? She said my son was playing soccer and the ball went into the street my son chased it and a car hit him but it just broke his leg," said Praagh.

It was one of the many visions Praagh said he had at a very young age.

You can meet Praagh in person this weekend at the  Society for Ethical Culture, 2 West 64th Street, Manhattan, at 8 p.m.
