Fisherman Helps Rescue Florida Tourist

A stroll along a sea wall almost turns deadly for one Florida tourist after he falls in luckily, a quick thinking fisherman and police are there to rescue him.

Officials say a 72-year-old man was rescued man after he fell into the ocean at Haulover Marina on Wednesday morning.

The French-Canadian tourist was taking a walk along a jetty at when he fell off the jetty and onto the sharp rocks after feeling dizzy.

Bal Harbour Police have released video showing after he had been pulled out of the ocean. Police said the current had taken the man about half a mile into the ocean.

Indian Creek Police and Bal Harbour Police's Marine Unit responded to the incident after receiving a call about a man seen bobbing in the water. "It really overwhelmed me when they said that he was still alive," said Chris Lindholm, the fisherman who called 911, as he choked back tears.

Police said the victim suffered cuts and abrasions after hitting rocks when he fell. He is recovery at from minor injuries at a local hospital.

    Summer is not over just yet! Today will be very hot and humid with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s and mostly sunny skies.  A cold front will bring some thunderstorms tonight, some of which may be severe.

    Wednesday will be less humid but it remains warm all week long.
