Pick Out The Blunders & Mistakes On FOX's Show 'Enlisted'

Posted: Updated:

Over the holidays, I decided to kick back, relax and catch up on a little appointment television.  (I guess it's not really appointment television as I save them up on my DVR until it's about the bust and then I binge-watch like there's no tomorrow!)

Have you ever been watching a movie or television show and come across continuity errors in the program that are just laughable?  This has become a game and entertainment past-time in our house! (Maybe we need to get out a little more!)  The other night we were watching ‘Monk' and my daughter calls out "Hey, wait a minute… did you see that?  Back that up again."  The show ‘Monk' is set in San Francisco, yet here comes the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus!  And, as we put the scene into slow-motion, the cross-streets read Santa Monica Blvd. and Wilshire!  Lol… good one!

My husband and I just began binge-viewing the TV series "Homeland".  We watched 2 entire seasons in a week.  Mid-way through season one, the Marine Corps. chevrons on Sergeant Brody's uniform suggested he was promoted from Sergeant to Gunnery Sergeant and yet everyone continued to refer to him as "Sergeant Brody."  My husband tells me the correct term used by Marines is "Gunny" unlike the Army wherein "Sergeant" is used a bit more generically. Later, in one episode the chevrons mysteriously switched back to Sergeant. Well, to be honest I couldn't tell the difference, but the Marine sitting next to me on the couch was having a complete conniption!

When the trailer for FOX's new military-themed comedy ‘Enlisted' hit the web this past year, let's just say… FOX got an earful!  It's about a soldier returning from war to lead a somewhat "misfit" crew of soldiers on an American base including his two younger brothers!  And, if you've seen the trailer, you're probably thinking… boy, those idiots sure got a lot of things wrong!  It's Snafu central and we know it!  But, they're owning up to their mistakes and running a contest to prove it! (FOX LOVES to give stuff away!!!)  From uniforms to grooming to a somewhat major "mis-catagorization" of a certain military vehicle…. they've really screwed some stuff up!  The show's creator Kevin Biegel (Cougar Town, Scrubs) says that since the pilot, consultants have been hired to keep things technically accurate.

To enter the contest, just watch the Series Premiere of ‘Enlisted' this Friday, January 10th at 9:30p on FOX 11. Write down their goofs, the mistakes and their big time blunders!  Send them to FOX and you'll get a nifty "Enlisted" challenge coin for your attention to detail and for keeping them square! (While supplies last.)  Go to Fox.com/enlisted for details!  Happy hunting!
