Dog Reunites With Family After Enduring Subzero Temperatures

Posted: Updated:

A puppy is reunited with his family after surviving nine days lost in subzero weather.

A one-year-old boxer named "Dempsey" bolted from his owners while the family was on a holiday trip in Maine.

After the trip was over, the family had to return home without the dog.

A local woman found Dempsey emaciated and hypothermic. His leg was also broken.

She saw missing posters of the dog online and made the connection.  The family was able to reunite with their puppy.

"Oh my goodness, I'm so thankful, just so, so thankful," says Dempsey's owner, Jamie Cyrway.

"I've told her a million times she is Dempsey's angel on earth, she really is," said Jamie Cyrway.

Jamie Cyrway believes the dog was looking for them as much as they were looking for him.

They plan to bring him home tomorrow.
