Plymouth Ice Festival underway

PLYMOUTH, Mich. (WJBK) -

The sounds of chainsaws could be heard in downtown Plymouth Saturday as artists created some amazing sculptures from blocks of ice.

The annual ice festival runs through Sunday, Jan. 12. Here's some of what's in store:

DTE Energy Hot Spot Warming Tent
Warm up in style at the Hot Spot Warming Tent under the Gathering directly across from Kellogg Park.  The Hot Spot features over 20 local vendors and businesses, product demonstrations, a sitting area to take a load off your feet and (most importantly) lots of heat!  The Hot Spot Warming Tent is open during all the official open hours of the event.

Amazing Wintertime Festival Food
Enjoy festival favorites like elephant ears, popcorn, roasted almonds and hot chocolate. All food sales on-site can be enjoyed in the warmth of the DTE Energy Hot Spot - tables and chairs are provided all weekend long...!     48-year-old Keith Andersen retired in February from the Grosse Pointe Park Police Department. On June 21, he was involved in a roll over accident where he suffered a broken neck. As of now Keith has no movement in his the lower half of his body. The Fraternal Order of Police, Grosse Pointe Lodge 102 is holding a fundraiser for Keith on Aug 5th. Amy Lange will have a full report on Fox 2 News at 5:00 p.m.
