First Look At The New Forum

Posted: Updated:

The giant spinning vinyl album on the roof lets passengers flying into LAX know the Eagles are headlining at the Forum when it re-opens its' doors after a $100 million dollar makeover. Madison Square Garden Entertainment bought the Inglewood arena for the bargain price of $23.5 million which has sat largely unused over the last decade. Back in it's heyday The Fabulous Forum, as it was called hosted many of the greatest performers from the 60's through the 90's and now after massive renovation by its new owner, MSG Entertainment, it's ready to Rock once again.

While the Lakers and Kings once called this space home, the new Forum focuses on art and music. Those plastic sports arena seats have been replaced by movie theater style loungers. The concession stands now feature tinted glass windows so you can keep your eye on the show while you grab a bit to eat. For a swank spot to dine, Caesars Palace Club now occupies a 4,000 square foot space. The Forum Club has been restored and upgraded with private entrances so VIPS don't even have to LOOK at the regular folk. As for the artists who preform there, a new lounge complete with billiards, video games and a golf simulator should keep them comfortable in between sets. One of the concerns is how this fresh forum will be able to compete without a sports team to anchor it's calendar and the Staples Center just 10 miles away. But so far the venue has booked big names like Sting, Paul Simon, Justin Timberlake and DJ Armin Van Buuren, all committing to shows sight unseen. That's a good sign there's big interest in the Forum's comeback.
