Phoenix cop resigns after alleged sexual contact with a teen

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

A 32 year-old former Phoenix Police Officer has resigned from the department following his arrest by Scottsdale Police investigating allegations that he had sex with a 17 year-old female.

Sgt. Steve Martos with the Phoenix Police Department said that Justin LaClere was an officer in the Mountain View precinct prior to his resignation on Friday.

On Thursday Scottsdale Police were notified that LaClere and a 17 year-old girl had been conversing on social media and that on Tuesday LaClere had committed a sex act with the teen.

LaClere during an interview with Scottsdale Police admitted to the act and was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail on one count of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of luring a minor for sexual exploitation.
