Learning From Inspirational People I've Met

Posted: Updated:

If I haven't expressed it enough, here it is. I LOVE recognizing amazing people. I'm talking about folks who are dedicating themselves to making this world a better place. If you haven't seen my segments called, Gina's People, I hope you take the time to do so. All of the stories are on our website.  I can honestly tell you that I've learned a little something from every single person that I've featured.

Today's story is about never giving up, no matter what. Misty Diaz is an inspirational woman. Watch her story and you'll know what I mean.

Last week, I featured Jennifer Sariñana.  She is the founder of a blanket outreach program that reaches approximately 58,000 homeless people in the Los Angeles area.  She said something that will stay with me forever, "I am blessed to be a blessing."  How wonderful is that?!

Then, there was Mike Petrone who is on a mission to make the world more compassionate.  He says, it's all very simple. Practice random acts of generosity and you'll see the most dramatic changes. Mike says, "Everybody has the ability to make a difference. They just need a little inspiration."

Gina's People Segments air every Monday on Fox 11.

Officials say a 16-year-old boy is "lucky to be alive" and unharmed after flying from California to Hawaii stowed away in a plane's wheel well, surviving cold temperatures at 38,000 feet and a lack of oxygen. "Doesn't even remember the flight," FBI spokesman Tom Simon in Honolulu told The Associated Press on Sunday night. "It's amazing he survived that."
