Boy, 15, killed in Little Village shooting

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 15-year-old boy was killed in a gang-related shooting in the Little Village neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

Miguel Naverrette was sitting inside a parked vehicle in the 4100 block of West 30th Street about 4:50 p.m. when someone inside a dark-colored SUV pulled up and fired shots at him while yelling gang slogans, police said.

Authorities initially gave the address of the shooting as the 3000 block of South Kedvale Avenue.

Naverette was shot in the abdomen and side and pronounced dead on the scene at 5:24 p.m., authorities said.

Police said the teen had gang affiliations.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
