National Hot Rod Association drag racer Alexis Dejoria is gearing up for her third racing season on the Funny Car circuit. It takes some guts to get behind the wheel of a car that runs on nitro and hits speeds of up to 300 miles per hour in four seconds, but Alexis says she loves the adrenaline rush. It may seem like an impossibly short ride but Alexis says when she's behind the wheel everything slows down for her. Her dad is Paul DeJoria, the cofounder of Paul Mitchell and Patron. Her husband is the TV personality and former West Coast Choppers guy, Jesse James. (Yes that Jesse James who cheated on Sandra Bullock.) But after a short stint working with her father's company she started finding her own way as a drag racer. She's one of only a handful of women on the NHRA circuit and with the help of her sponsor-yes, her dad's company Patron-she's building a name for women in a field dominated by men.
Alexis stopped by the "Studio 11 LA" set to talk about the upcoming season which starts at the Pomona Speedway.
