Kerri Kasem: It's Not About The Money

Kerri Kasem has been fighting to visit her dad , the legendary broadcaster Casey Kasem, who has Parkinson's disease. Kerri says she has been denied access to her dad by Jean, her stepmother of 33 years.

A new bill is being proposed that would allow children the right to visit their sick or dying parents. It's been proposed by Assemblyman Mike Gatto, who says the bill exists because of Kerri's activism.

Steve and Lisa talked to her Friday about the legislation, her family conflict, her dad, and the foundation she created, the Kasem Cares Foundation.

1.) Kerri is an American radio and television host and model.

2.) She is the elder daughter of radio host Casey Kasem with his ex-wife, Linda Myers Kasem. She co-hosts Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx for Premiere Radio Networks.

3.) Kerri Kasem was a reporter/host on E!, is a host on UFC, and a host on SiTV's The Rub. In 2003, she was a contestant on the ESPN reality show, Beg, Borrow & Deal. She has worked on radio shows such as "Racing Rocks," syndicated on over 120 stations, the "National Lampoon Comedy Countdown", "The Solomon Free Money Hour," and "Pet Talk". She was co-host with Alan Stock on KXNT 840 AM in Las Vegas for a morning radio talk show. She left KXNT in August 2007 for TV and radio in Los Angeles.

4.) In 2009 Kasem was picked as a co-host for the Premiere Radio Networks shows Sixx Sense and The Side Show Countdown, alongside famous bass guitarist Nikki Sixx.

Kerri is hosting a celebration party for the Kasem Cares Foundation, Saturday night, February 22nd in Beverly Hills.
