Okay I admit it, I am a closet Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fan. After a hard day at work dealing with the world's very real problems it is nice to go home and enjoy reality show "problems." My favorite housewife this season is Joyce Giraud, so when I found out she was going to be on Studio 11 I had to go in and meet her. Let me tell you, she did not disappoint. She is just as beautiful in person, but beyond her physical appearance she was warm and welcoming. It is always nice to meet a fellow Latina who is not afraid to break into Spanish when they feel that connection.
Giraud, who held the titles of Miss World Puerto Rico and Miss Universe Puerto Rico (Second Runner-Up in the Miss Universe Pageant), was here to promote her "Queen of the Universe," pageant. She decided to create the pageant in order to include those who are normally excluded, single, married and girls who have children.
My conversation, while brief, was like chatting with an old friend. No pretentiousness or arrogance as some might expect from a "real housewife," especially from Beverly Hills. Joyce was bright, funny and endearing (she also has the best hair I have ever seen). Needless to say Giraud made me a little less embarrassed to say I watch the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
