Mind Games With Steve Zahn

Posted: Updated:

I can't wait to tell my kids I met the guy who plays "Frank Heffley" the dad in all those "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" movies, which has been very big in our house!

That guy of course is Steve Zahn who is such a talented actor it was an honor to have him in on "Good Day LA" today.

He was here to promote his new show that's debuting over on ABC tonight.  It's called "Mind Games" and he co-stars with Christian Slater.

In the show they play brothers one a con man just out of prison and Steve the brilliant and bi-polar one who doesn't want to take his meds.  Together they will try to help those who can't help themselves by basically using mind control or as it's called in tonight's episode Jedi mind tricks.

Steve also has a role in "Dallas Buyer's Club" he plays the cop buddy of Matthew McConaughey who is a clear front runner to win an Oscar this weekend.  Steve told us he just had to be involved in the project because he new the dedication and depth Matthew was undertaking for the role.

He also talked about the turn in his career from playing all those stoner dudes as he put it.  Honestly he was absolutely charming and such a nice man.  You can also tell he's a great dad and he's raising his kids far away from the spotlight of Hollywood, instead choosing a farm in Kentucky.

‘Mind Games' airs tonight at 10:00pm on ABC.

Steve's not on Twitter but his show is, it's: @MindGamesABC
