'Lisa the Mad Scientist'

Posted: Updated:

Today for my blog just think of me as "Lisa the Mad Scientist"!

First up nothing intimidating about interviewing an astrophysicist.  But that's the thing about Neil deGrasse Tyson and his new show "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey", he wants to do away with that whole intimidating thing and make science more accessible to all of us!

And when I sat down to talk with him he was nothing short of charming, and fun, and has such a soothing and fantastic voice!

The show is actually a reboot of sorts of Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" which premiered on PBS 35 year ago.  That show introduced a whole generation to space exploration and how Earth came to be and whether there was anything else out there.

The new show will be a 13 part series premiering March 9th on FOX March 10th on National Geographic Channel.

I've watched the first episode with my kids and it was fun to watch their reactions! There was a lot of "wow" and "ohhh"…super fun.

Neil deGrasse Tyson happens to be really big on Twitter, so if you want to follow him it's: @neiltyson  1.66-million followers can't be wrong!

Next up, we had the guys from Professor Egghead stop by and help us create some special effects using science in honor of all those fun movie special effects in movies as we head into Oscar weekend.

Let me just say before you watch the segment, please don't try this at home, but it was super super cool for me to do in studio, I can't wait to show this segment to my kids when they get home from school today!

It's no secret that Microsoft has struggled in the hardware department so I can't say whether the Surface Pro 3 will be the hero Microsoft needs but I can say it is the modern computing experience users deserve. I love it and think you should too! Read on to find out why.
