Georgia Highlands College student, Jesse Stroup has Cerebral Palsy. It has always been a dream of his to play college basketball, but his disability did not allow him to match up to the rest of the players.
After not making the team, Coach and Athletic Director, Phil Gaffney still created a spot for him. He would shoot video, dry the hardwood and keep the score book for the team, but on Tuesday night, Jesse's role changed.
He was able to suit up for the Chargers and play in his first ever college basketball game. He made two baskets scoring six points, helping lead his team to victory. Stroup says he is grateful for the opportunity that allowed him to fulfill his dream of playing college basketball.
