LOS ANGELES -- The message of the night from the "American Idol" judges to the contestants was, "Good, but you can do better."

The judges told Majesty Rose they wish she had stayed understated with her version of Coldplay's "Fix You." Harry Connick Junior told Caleb Johnson his version of Rush's "Working Man" was consistent but he needs to take it further.

Connick commended Southfield's Malaya Watson on her decision to take on a gospel song ("Take Me to the King") instead of a pop tune. Jennifer Lopez said the performance gave her goosebumps. The judges were just alright with Farmington Hills native Jena Irene's rendition of KT Tunstall's "Suddenly I See."

Keith Urban suggested to MK Nobillette she sling the guitar behind her if she's not going to play it and told Jessica Meuse if she sings with enough emotion no one will care if she's off pitch.

Emily Piriz made the bold move of doing a Lopez song in front of J-Lo. She loved it but Connick thought the production was too big for Piriz.

See who gets eliminated tonight when 'Idol' airs on FOX at 8 p.m.
