With a burst of confetti and a standing ovation from an adoring crowd, Olympic gold medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White took yet another bow at The Village Theater in Cherry Hill. They also chatted with supporters and even posed for some pictures wearing the gold metals they won after 17 years of blood, sweat and tears.

"It's so special to be able to bring these back to Canton and share this with all of you," Meryl Davis told the crowd.

With their gold medal winning performance in Sochi they became the first Americans ever to win the top spot in ice dance. The pair grew up near each other in Bloomfield HIlls and have trained together most of their lives. They prepared for the Olympic performance at Arctic Edge in Canton where their top competitors from Canada also train with the same coach.

"Standing on the podium, it's always a great moment for reflection," White said. "You just put the medal around your neck and suddenly you have a tangible object that represents everything that you've put into your partnership, your life, you recognize how much bigger it is than just your performance."

The skaters will compete on the show Dancing With the Stars and perform with the Stars on Ice tour which makes a stop in Detroit April 27.
