Wade McCree filed paperwork with the state in February to run for judge again. The choice to run for re-election comes despite the controversy surrounding his bad behavior while on the bench.

It all started with a nude selfie sent to a married bailiff.

Then it came to light he was sleeping with Geniene Mott while presiding over her child support case.

FOX 2 stopped by McCree's house to talk about his re-election plans but no one came to the door.

"That's ridiculous. I don't think the voters of Wayne County are going to put him back in office after what he did," says FOX 2 legal analyst Charlie.

Yet some don't see it that way.

The strange testimony of Judge Wade McCree

"That's his personal life. [It has] nothing to do with me," says Cornell Campbell.

McCree was suspended without pay last year.

The supreme court has until July to decide his fate.

"Based on what I've read from the Supreme Court, they're pretty tough. I think they're going to hit Wade McCree pretty hard," says Langton.

The Judicial Tenure Commission is recommending McCree be suspended for six years. It would go into effect if voters put him back in office.

"It's a colossal waste of time for Wade McCree to run an election, win and for the Supreme Court to say, 'You're done.' I don't get it," says Langton.

Wayne County says printing the ballots won't cost tax payers much if that's how it plays out.

McCree isn't the first suspended judge to run for re-election, but he is the first to do so after a very public and bizarre scandal.
