DETROIT (WJBK) -

Customers at Glory Supermarket on Telegraph and Seven Mile roads in northwest Detroit are having difficulty shopping after most of the store's shopping carts were stolen.

Surveillance video shows three people parking a U-Haul truck next to the cart corral and moving the carts into the cargo area of the vehicle.

The cart corral is even locked with a cable every night, but the thieves brought a grinder to cut through.

The shopping carts cost the business at least $75 each, so the store lost thousands of dollars in property value. All of the stolen carts are labeled 'Property of Glory Supermarket.'

The exact reason for stealing the carts is unknown, but one possibility is they could have been stolen to be taken to a scrap yard.

Police warn cart thieves could target other grocery stores.
