Long Live the Wrap Dress: A Visit From Fashion Icon Diane von Furstenberg

Posted: Updated:

There is nothing cooler than being in the presence of a woman who simply owns the room. Diane von Furstenberg is one of those people. She's dripping in success, unapologetic for it, and quite simply put…cooler at 67 than I could ever dream of being on my best of days! You don't have to be a fashionista to appreciate the absolutely fabulous DVF. She's a legend & an icon in the fashion industry but more importantly she is a cheerleader for all women. In other words she knocked our (designer) socks off!

She stopped by GDLA to tell us all about a new exhibit here in LA honoring here iconic wrap dress. "The Journey of a Dress Exhibition" celebrates 40 years of her most famous creation of all time…the wrap dress. This simple, yet genius,  design has transcended time as much as she has. And to think she was only 26 years old when she dreamed up the dress that would create a fashion empire!

She's also extremely passionate about the DVF awards that she's created and I promised I would pass along the info. A girl is only as good as her word so check out all of the info below.

Cast your vote, bust out your wrap dress and check out the exhibit!
