Tonight and Tomorrow's 405 Closures Canceled

Posted: Updated:

(FOX 11/ CNS)  The overnight closures of the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway that had been planned for tonight and tomorrow night between Santa Monica and National boulevards in West Los Angeles have been CANCELED, according to Metro.

Separate closures of the southbound 405 between the Ventura (101) Freeway and Getty Center Drive are planned overnights on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

PREVIOUSLY:

Ramps and lanes were scheduled to begin closing Monday night in advance of the first of two overnight closures of the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in West Los Angeles to accommodate the installation of an overhead sign and ongoing roadway widening, authorities said. All northbound lanes of the freeway were scheduled to close between Santa Monica and National boulevards from midnight until 5 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Metro.

Ramps were due to being closing at 7 p.m. and lane closures were due to begin at 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in advance of the closures, which will allow crews to install a full-span freeway overhead sign and continue roadway widening work at the freeway median, the agency reported.

Onramps at Sunset and Wilshire boulevards will also be closed "as a traffic mitigation effort," according to Metro.

Motorists were advised to use Sepulveda Boulevard to get around the closed portion of the freeway.
