KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Mohave County authorities say a Kingman teenager is hospitalized in critical condition after being shot while illegally entering a home through a window.

The Sheriff's Office says the 17-year-old youth was shot Wednesday evening by a 22-year-old man who was inside the Kingman-area home.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the wounded teenager walked away. Responding deputies found him lying on the ground about two blocks away after he'd asked for help at another residence.

The Sheriff's Office says a handgun used in the shooting has been confiscated and that the shooter was released after being questioned by detectives.

The Sheriff's Office says the case will be forwarded to the County Attorney's Office for review.

The Associated Press is not reporting the wounded teenager's name because of his age.
